Case Study
New Cafe, Torrington Avenue, Coventry
Here we took a dilapidated, vacant office space in a prime location in Coventry and transformed it into a new Cafe. The project involved a variety of trades and specialist services that we carefully designed and coordinated to provide a total, and all-in-one solution for our client.
The initial phase of the works involved providing the Cafe with all the relevant services it needed, so our groundworks and M&E teams installed access to waste and water, and connected up a new gas supply. Within the space we created a layout that was more fit for purpose by removing two walls to create a seating area and by installing a service hatch to the new kitchen. We also removed a central window and replaced it with a new aluminium shop front window and door, and fitted new entrance matting. We replastered and decorated throughout, installed a new ceiling grid, and fitted new energy efficient PIR LED lighting. In addition to this we installed new electrical sockets, new electric heaters and a new electricity meter. We installed new Polysafe Wood fx Acoustix PUR flooring to the seating areas, as it is highly durable and slip resistant, as well as having a great aesthetic. We then installed hygienic wall cladding in the Kitchen and new WC, along with Polysafe Apex, a tough safety flooring, which provides enhanced slip resistance, and which is perfect for the commercial kitchen environment.
The project was delivered on time and within budget, and our client was delighted with the transformation.
